The Mexicana® Airlines Visa® Platinum, issued by Bank of America, N.A. (USA), is designed for those who travel frequently with Mexicana® Airlines or any of its partners and would like to take advantage of the mileage reward program. Through the reward program, cardholders earn two miles per dollar spent with Mexicana® Airlines and one mile per dollar spent on all other purchases. 4,000 bonus miles are applied to the account upon approval after joining the Frecuenta Loyalty Program, and cardholders receive a free companion ticket after their first purchase.

Plus, an additional 2,000 miles and a $99 companion ticket are applied to the account every year on the date of the account opening. Miles never expire, and there is no limit to the number of miles that can be earned.

The annual fee of $45 is reasonable as compared to other airline reward cards. There is a 1.9% introductory rate that applies to purchases and balance transfers for the first six billing cycles, and the interest rate remains reasonable for a reward card after the introductory rate expires. However, the APRs for all transactions are tied to the highest Prime Rate during a 90-day period, which means the APRs may never reach the lowest possible interest rates.

In addition to the reward program, cardholders can expect various benefits offered by Bank of America, N.A. (USA), such as purchase protection, extended warranties for purchases, auto rental insurance, and travel accident insurance (see website for additional benefits).

Therefore, those who frequently fly with Mexicana® Airlines, plan to take advantage of the reward program, and would like the additional companion tickets will benefit most from what the Mexicana® Airlines Visa® Platinum has to offer.
